The Tomb of the Ancient Kings was a room in all of Season 1. It featured five golden doors and a sarcophagus in the center. A contestant who enters must find the key in the sarcophagus to open the door into the Swamp, Spider's Lair, Bamboo Forest, Holes of Python or go up into the Shrine of the Silver Monkey or bust through the wall if it can be destroyed. This room was replaced in Season 2 by the Dark Forest.

  • The doors and fallen column from the Tomb of the Ancient Kings can still be seen in the Dark Forest and have not been altered.
  • This room was known for having one of the contestants illegally jumping out of the temple as shown in Henry VIII's Great Seal.
  • King Tut's Cobra Staff was located here, in a very appropriate nod to the fact that it was an ancient pharaoh's item.
